What do you mean by system? Can computer compare with a system?
Introduction:
The computer system is a group of integrated parts that have the common purpose of performing various operations. It consists of a computer, all the support equipment necessary for its use, instructions that specify the performance of certain tasks, procedures that people must follow to use the computer, and the people who use the system.
System:
A system is a group of interrelated
components working together toward a common goal by accepting inputs and producing outputs in an organized transformation process.
The term system may be defined as an orderly arrangement of a set of interrelated and interdependent element that operate collectively to accomplish some common purpose or goal. For example – human body is a system, consisting of various parts such as head, heart, hands, legs and so on. The various body parts are related by mean of connecting networks of blood vessels and nerves and the system has a main goal of “living”.
Element of system:
· Input:
· Processing:
· Feedback:
· Output
· Boundaries:
Computer as a system:
We can compare computer with system by system’s element.
Input:
Input is what data the system receives to produce a certain output. Like a system’s input computer has some input hardware. Such as-Keyboard, mouse, Microphone etc.
Processing:
The process involved to transform input into output is known as Processing. Like a system’s processing unit computer process data with the help of CPU (Central processing unit)
Output:
What goes out from the system after being processed is known as Output. Like asystem’s output computer has some output units. Such as-Monitor, printer etc.
Interfaces:
The interconnections and the interactions between the sub-systems is known as the Interfaces. Such a system’s interfaces computer has interfaces and that is human ware.
Boundaries:
The boundaries are nothing but the limit of the system. Setting up boundaries helps for better concentration of the actives carried in the system. Like system’s boundaries Computer has some boundaries/limits.
Conclusion:
Computer system is a group of components working together for some common purpose or goal. For example-computer consists various parts such as-Input, processing, output, storage etc and those parts connected with each other closely and the computer system has a main goal that is data processing/computing. From above discussion we can compare computer with a system.
